Clothes And Equipment For A Skiing Vacation

Skiing is a really fun, exhilarating activity that’s brilliant no matter whether you’re a professional or just starting out. Ski trips are equally great – all that time dedicated to gliding down the slopes is good fun. So what are the key items you should take with you on a ski trip? One item that’s really important is thermal underwear. This will cut down on the number of other layers you need to wear and is great when you’re spending a lot of time out in the cold.
It’s also vital that you take a good winter jacket with you to keep warm. A ski jacket with good insulation is ideal as these are especially designed to cope with the weather conditions and are also really breathable, which is great when you’re moving around a lot. Ski jackets are also more streamlined than they used to be so you don’t have to worry about carrying around too much bulk. They also come with lots of pockets, which is always handy.
You should also remember to pack a decent sweater to help keep out the chill even when you’re not on the ski slopes. Something thick is a really good idea as it will prevent the wind getting in even when it’s really cold. You could also go for a super soft and warm microfleece sweater as these are great for keeping you warm with only a small amount of material, making them both efficient for their purpose and ideal for packing into your suitcase.
Of course, skiing wouldn’t be skiing without skis and ski poles and all the other equipment, but you’ll most likely be able to hire this from your ski resort. Despite this, there are a couple of bits of equipment you should definitely take with you. One of these is a lift pass holder that attaches to your ski jacket as this will make it easier for you to access the lifts at your ski resort. Ski ties are also a good idea for making it easier to carry your skis.
Decent shoes and socks are really important when skiing as they go a long way to helping protect you from the cold and are absolutely vital when traveling around exceptionally cold and icy locations. It’s a great idea to get some sturdy shoes that are good for both stopping you slipping on the ice and preventing you feeling any cold that seeps up from the ground. Thick socks – especially if they’re thermal – are also ideal as they’ll work to keep your feet warm no matter what the temperature is.
